Marilu Galvez is president and general manager of ABC7/WABC-TV New York, the No. 1 station in the country, and has overall management responsibility for WABC-TV and its ancillary businesses.

Galvez is an Emmy® Award-winning journalist who has been at WABC-TV for more than 20 years. Under her leadership, WABC-TV was honored with the Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence in 2023 and 2025.

Prior to taking over leadership of the station in 2022, she served as vice president of Community Engagement and Development. She was responsible for community outreach efforts and for growing relationships with key service organizations in the tristate area. She successfully aligned news, programming, marketing, and on-air talent with cause-related events and campaigns, and leveraged opportunities with advertiser support. Through strategy and innovation, her leadership has helped expand and elevate a multicultural presence at the station.

She is an active member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and was named one of the Top 10 Latina Corporate Executives of the Year by LATINA Style in 2019. Most recently, Galvez was honored by the nonprofit organization New York Edge during their 2025 gala for her work with underprivileged youth.

She serves as a board member for several organizations, including the nonprofit humanitarian organization American Red Cross, The Food Bank For New York City (NYC’s Largest Hunger Relief Organization), the leading national anti-bullying and cyberbullying nonprofit STOMP Out Bullying™; and the NY State Broadcasters Association. She is also an advisor for the nonpartisan organization, The League of Women Voters of the City of New York (LWVNYC). Additionally, she actively supports the Boys & Girls Club as well as all initiatives associated with Disney’s VoluntEars program.

Before joining WABC in 2001, Galvez worked as a production assistant and assignment editor at Telemundo, an assignment editor at WNYW and an assignment manager at WNBC.

Galvez earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College in 2021. She also received an honorary degree from Hofstra University in 2022. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s degree in diplomacy and international relations at Seton Hall University.

David Wurtzel is president and general manager of KGO-TV, where he oversees ABC7/KGO-TV San Francisco and its ancillary businesses.

Wurtzel has been with The Walt Disney Company for nearly 20 years, recently serving as the vice president of Operations and Business Planning for the ABC Owned Television Stations in Los Angeles and Fresno.  In this role, he directed all finance, strategic planning, accounting, and business functions for KABC and KFSN. As a key member of the executive team, he was responsible for establishing, supporting and executing both long-range and short-term goals, strategies, plans and policies that have helped the ABC Owned Television Stations reach and maintain their No. 1 status across linear, streaming and social platforms.

Before that, he served as the assistant director of Finance, where he managed the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes while advising on the organization’s financial strategy. He directed the quarterly accounting process for ABC Owned Television Stations and proactively provided senior management with trend analyses and projections to help them operate effectively within budget and in compliance with company policy and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Wurtzel began his career with the company as the Manager of Controls and Compliance in Corporate Controllership, where he oversaw the Sarbanes-Oxley accounting compliance program for Disney Media Networks. He developed and trained teams across various business units, including ABC, ESPN, Disney Channel and International Distribution. He implemented new accounting guidelines, maintained Sarbanes-Oxley policies and standards, and conducted the annual risk assessment of key control activities. Additionally, he provided subject matter expertise on compliance best practices and identified improvements for complex financial systems.

Before joining The Walt Disney Company, Wurtzel served as a supervisor, Internal Audit at Sony Pictures Entertainment. In this role, he conducted a range of domestic and international financial audits across various divisions, including television, theatrical releases, motion picture production, and home entertainment. He also supervised audits for European Television Networks, Domestic Home Entertainment, Latin American Television Distribution, Sony Pictures Classics, and Theatrical Film Production. Wurtzel began his career as a senior auditor at Ernst and Young.

Wurtzel received his Master of Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University in 2006 and his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Massachusetts, in 2000. He is a certified public accountant licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He is on the board of directors for the Media Financial Management Association, a not-for-profit association that provides media and entertainment industry financial professionals with unique networking and educational opportunities, and media-specific information services to enhance their capabilities and contribute to their organizations’ success.

John W. Morris is the station president and general manager of 6abc/WPVI-TV in Philadelphia. In this role, he will have overall management responsibility for the station, shaping its editorial vision and managing the strategies and teams that drive audience and growth across platforms.

Morris most recently served as vice president of Multiplatform Programming at 6abc/WPVI TV, where he oversaw the station’s digital platforms and some of its most popular programming. His appointment to that position in 2017 coincided with the merger of WPVI’s Digital Operations and Programming departments, a pivotal step in the station’s evolution into a fully integrated multiplatform organization.

In his programming leadership role, Morris guided a wide range of signature content, including the weekly lifestyle program “FYI Philly,” the long-running community affairs program “Visions” and numerous local specials produced throughout the year, including “The 6abc Thanksgiving Day Parade” — the nation’s oldest Thanksgiving Day parade at more than 100 years old and one of the city’s most visible and beloved annual events.

Morris began his career at WPVI TV in 1993 as a news writer for Action News. Over 23 years in the news department, he served as a newscast producer and executive producer for Philadelphia’s top-rated newscasts, while also overseeing news productions for out-of-market events across the country and on five continents.

A Philadelphia native with lifelong ties to the community, Morris developed an early passion for local news and journalism. He is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, where he earned degrees in Journalism and Politics and Government before beginning his professional career at WSYX TV, the ABC affiliate in Columbus, Ohio.

Morris lives in Center City, Philadelphia, with his wife, Beth, and their son, William.
